So you have two 512mb PC2100 installed, and how is working ? Faster ? Stable ?
I've just bought a TC1000 / 256mb from eBay, I expect to receive it next week and I plan to upgrade the memory.
Thanks for share your experience.
Gino.
I reported this in another post about opening the case.
I had to change the motherboard on my TC1000. When I removed the 256mb memory sodimm that was installed on the motherboard, I was suprised by what I found. 256mb PC2100 ddr memory.
I tried to install a 1gb PC2700 sodimm but the computer would not start up. I replaced it with 512mb PC2100 sodimm and it worked. I now have .98gb of memory.
I don't know if a 1gb PC2100 sodimm might work.
If anyone hase tried it or is willing to try, please let us know.

The 256mb PC2100 memory can only be changed by uninstalling the motherboard.
The external memory slot is for PC133 sodimm.
I do have one quirk after this. The system restarts when I shutdown. This may be a problem with the replacement motherboard I installed. I will let you know when I finish checking it out.
ummm, I'm not sure if this helps but my TC1100 came with 512mb ddr277 or ddr333 (not sure) and I added another 512 to the other slot that was ddr400 and everything worked fine
I was given a TC1000 a couple months ago and finally found time to work on it. I had a spare 1GB PC2100 SoDIMM lying around so I tried replacing the stock 256MB PC2100 SoDIMM with zero luck. It wouldn't even POST. I then tried a 512MB PC2700 SoDIMM in the slot and that POSTed. I'm now running Memtest-86 on it which is now 25% passed. All the memory cards are from Micron including the original. I'm going to try putting Win7 on it now that I have it above 512MB.
