The upside down external monitor problem is well known, and yes, you will need something like Ultramon (www.ultramon.com)...
Dear Friends,
I'm using a Toshiba M7 with a dock and a Samsung LCD external Monitor.
I am operating in dual mode.
Sometimes while doing audio editing, I'm trying to use the tablet screen mostly as a mouse / wacom style tablet and do my main work on the external Monitor.
I flip the M7 into tablet mode while docked. The M7 screen now appears upside down. I don't mind that so much, because it is mostly being used like a mouse / wacom tablet, but also would not mind it right side up as well. That would be better.
When I drag the pen down, the cursor goes up, and visa-versa on the external monitor. This is impossible to work with.
I like that when I point at my tablet screen with the stylus, my cursor effects objects on the external screen. When I tap on my tablet screen, I can get select, double click, etc, etc on the big external screen.
I tried to rotate the tablet, with "change screen orientation", but the only thing that happened was that the image on my external monitor went upside down.
How can I configure my system so it works the way I want it to with dragging the cursor down on a docked M7 and having the cursor also follow in the same direction on the external monitor?
How can I get the tablet screen while docked to appear right side up, without causing havok with my external monitor?
Do I need some special software like I saw mentioned on this forum before? (Please remind me where. I can't find it.)
Or could someone please suggest some other solution?
Thanks very much.

XP or Vista? On Vista, Toshiba has released an add on that lets you adjust the secondary monitor independently of the primary. Its an add on to the Mobility Center...

Straightforward and simple. Sits in your tray and does one thing very well. Free, too.
