Hello all: long time since I have been in this forum.

I have some new TC4400 and wondering what the little chrome split ring that comes with these units is for??? Anyone know?

It is for changing the tips on the pen. You don't really need it. I just pull the old one out, and push a new one in.

Yes, its to change the Pen nib (tip), it allows you to grab onto it and pull it out, as you will notice there are some spare nibs in the box also.
