So... I use a tc4200 and i have the multibay dvd+cdrw drive. Up until recently i haven't had any problems with it other than the fact that its a bit of an annoyance not being built into the computer.

anyways... over the past few days i could hear something rattling inside of the black drive cradle. i figured that could not be good. i'll admit- the drive has fallen off of my bed twice... but i have carpet floor and honestly it shouldn't have been enough to damage it.

anyways- after trying to get the rattle causing culprit out for two days i finally succeeded in getting it to stop... AFTER A SCREW FELL OUT FROM THE INSIDE. x_x

so now, i'm having some problems. the drive still seems to be working... i can still play media files off of it, such as music and videos... but what's weird is that i can't actually open up the folder that contains the files and just browse it on my computer. and this is a serious issue because i can't open any of my school-related cd's now.

i tried unscrewing the casing to try and open it up to see if there was an obvious place to put back in the screw that fell out but i'm having troubles getting the bottom of the case to pop off all the way. i can get the half that points away from ht eplugs off just fine, but the half that's towards the plugin side... i can't get it to budge.

if anyone has any answers please help me. if you can at least explain how to properly disassemble the cradle so i can try and put the screw back in i'd be appreciative. [xx(]
