I am a recent owner of a TC 1100. I would. appreciate if someone could email me an HP update for Bluetooth that is no longer available on the HP website. The update is Sp22175 for Bluetooth .

Thought I'd add to this topic.

The reason I was looking for the older 1.2 Bluetooth drivers is I wanted to use a set of Bluetooth headphones, specifically Motorola HT820.

If someone can send / email me any drivers or updates to help this happen I would appreciate it.

To make this bluetooth headset to work correctly I believe I need bluetooth drivers that support A2DP. This might be updated Widcom drivers or the Bluetooth update that HP pulled from their web site. I was able to get this working on my UtStarcom 6700 ppc but have had no luck with the TC1100.

I am hoping one of the talented TC1100 owners can assist.

    Thanks again.

    Sorry Coopguy

I did some hunting around and could not find anything.

I was really hoping to find a link for you.

Thanks for looking. I found some esoteric information about A2DP and the reference to updated Widcomm drivers. I also found reference to the Bluetooth 1.2 update that was yanked ; I believe someone ssaid it damaged their machine.

I am truly suprised no one has looked further into the Bluetooth possibilities of this machine. I think this machine is great.

I was a long ago Commodore, then Amiga then PC then Palm them Axim X30 then UtStarcom 6700 (which I gave to my son in University). I stuck with the Axim x30, still a great machine.

This tablet is super. I just upgraded to 1.5 gig of memory and had been considering trying Vista. I really don't know if I need it yet.

I did read all your articles (WNewquay) and the Wiki on Vista. The TC1100 community owes you a big thank you.

Anyone out there ever contact HP regarding Bluetooth upgrades. I tend to shy away from burocracies but I may have to contact them yet.

Once again any bluetooth users out there. You know we could start a thread regarding bluetooth devices that work well on this machine. It might generate some interest.

    Thanks for reading my ramble.

I posted the wrong number for the Bluetooth upgrade. I checked back archives and found a reference to SP28271.

Found on page 7 of this forum - dated April 16th. Looks like there was a lot more interest about Bluetooth back in April of 2006.

One interesting bit of info on this page was the apparent lack of updates provided for Bluetooth.

Any TC Tablet gurus out there with some info to share.

    Thanks

The update sp28427 on the HP site claims to add support for 1.2. Any reason why this one shouldn't work?

I have SP28271 on my hard disk should you still need it.

    Hi CoopGuy
" I also found reference to the Bluetooth 1.2 update that was yanked ; I believe someone ssaid it damaged their machine."

That sounds familiar - and would tend to keep me from wanting to inflict this on any of my machines.

Now that I think about it, I'm almost certain that I had Bluetooth headset working with a TC1100 about a year ago. I didn't use it for long as the earpiece was very uncomfortable. I as just using it for Voice Over IP.

I would have been using SP28427 - same as Tim047's link above.

I dunno if I sound stupid here but thought that would clear my doubt anyways.

Is the bluetooth module on TC1100 integrated in the WLAN CARD/WIFI CARD.

If no then is such a card available for TC1100 i.e BLUETOOTH + Wi-Fi CARD which the user can himself change(I guess the card is accessible just above the internal battery next to the RAM!!!!????)

    Thanks

    Hi nannlp,

I've swapped out that card (WLAN card beside the bridge battery) and it did not affect the Bluetooth. So wherever the Bluetooth module is, it's deep inside and I'm pretty sure I have not seen it.

Note to anyone reading: the card I swapped out was an HP WLAN500 - not an aftermarket non-HP wlan card.
