Well after hours of research [^]i found the following

The problem is not the digitazer, and all we are thinking that the procesor is the quilty of our jumping cursor but it isn't, as you can see on the photo i have an aluminium foil on front of the screen, if you want when your mouse goes jumping take an aluminium foil and place it as you can see in the photo, the result is that your mouse stop to doing jumping things

but the problem is not the processor you can dounload a hot cpu tester pro at download.com with this software your cpu will be go to 100% of cpu usage and the mouse will donot doing jumping, so what is the problem?

If we think a little, the problem is more visible when the graphics core works a little more for example with age of empires 3 the graphics unit processor works a lot, and the cpu to, at this point i can tell you that there is a RF interference when the GPU works hard and the screen catch this interference so the mouse pointer goes nuts if you dont belive me download age of empires III and be prepere with your aluminium foil, when the mouse start to do things put the foil as you can see on the photo and magically the mouse will be going normal

So take this and do your test with your x41 and do what you need to do, if you being affected as i:( pick your phone and talk with lenovo support and tell him whats going on. I hope that this issue will not be on all the x41 but if you are talk to rep. support as fast as you can, if we are so many lenovo will be to fix our machines more fast or send to us a new one because this issue is a real problem

ALSO This RF interference may be is the quilty of the ink strage jump when you are using the one note and journal

Read this and answer to see how many users have this problem , if you dont have the problem answer me to make a percentage of how many machines are bad

PD if you dont want to download the age of empires you can do the following test, put your system at max performance run zinio and open a magazinne, press the left arrow key and watch your mouse, in 6 to 15 minutes you will be see the jumping cursor off course if you have the problem

I had the same problem and called IBM last week. I have the next day on site service and they sent a guy to replace the digitizer on my screen. I told him I didn't think that was the problem and instead instructed him to place a sheet of aluminum foil inside as described in this link : http://www.veridicus.com/tummy/programming/litepadfix/
I don't think he was authrorized to make this modification, but he did it anyways and I haven't had any cursor problems since then.

vegasavic, I'm glad it worked, good work passing Tum's site on to others. I tried to email him about the problem but received no answer, he must be too busy (aren't we all...)

Warning, RANT coming (not at anyone in this thread or on TabletPCBuzz, but at the industry, in particular IBM, er, I mean Lenovo).

I am going to try to "scream" on this thread and on the general PC hardware thread.

    As I documented here:
    http://www.tabletpcbuzz.com/forum/to...TOPIC_ID=29068

"This issue has a very long history. I would expect that you can do all the necessary updates, etc, and you will STILL have the problem. Many computers have had elements of this, but I know it was discussed widely in reference to the NEC. There is a custom software fix by TUM, if I remember correctly, and a hardware fix first discribed I think by johnnyquest, but with good pictures by TUM.

the jumping, eratic, self exiting program issue is a hardware design problem encountered by many tablets, some more so than others. The NEC Versa LitePad seemed to be the most bothered, and it was on that thread that software and hardware adaptations were discussed and described.

IF I WAS SMARTER, had the time, and the backing, I would get the help needed to design a Tablet that WILL NOT do this (perhaps Toshiba, Futjitsu, and others have already figured this out). We didn't fuss too much about this in a way with the NEC, as it was a first generation and still hard to beat if you want a slate. But I would have thought "The King" would have done better, after studying the field for years and letting others blaze the trail.

The litepadfix works pretty well on lenovo cursor jumping, today i was gaming with age of empires iii and in 2 hours the cursor never jump so all users of x41 can try this little progra that usu 2 % of cpu sometimes and 300kb of memory by the way the litepadfix filtered more than 40 crazy jumps

hi mike.m i am in mexico so i no understand very well your por when yo say the following sentence

"Warning, RANT coming (not at anyone in this thread or on TabletPCBuzz, but at the industry, in particular IBM, er, I mean Lenovo)."

please you can explain me a little more :) thaks a lot for your post i see that almost all the brands have problems with the crazy jumps, i that NEC is the most affected i am very dissaponted with NEC that they not doing anything for their costumers, i hope lenovo doing more. also the problem is only annoying at high speed cpu with high cpu load when i use in tablet mode i always use at 600 mhz to reduce the heat and u very comfortable, but the problem exist anyway and i been talking here with IBM here on mexico

    thanks a lot again

I can second the litepad fix working well.
I just quickly loaded up age of empires with and without the fix and well it works. I got 1 jump in the 5 minutes i had the program loaded.

    yaaa

I am actually just sending the tablet in for maintenance on this, as it has really started to bother me. We souldn't have to do homemade "shielding" on any device, this is straight up ridiculous!

<< You can test to see if LitepadFix is working by moving your cursor to the bottom left hand corner of the screen, raising your pen away from the screen and then bringing the pen down onto the top right hand corner of the screen. If LitepadFix is working then you will find that the cursor remains at the bottom of the screen and won't move to the top right hand corner of the screen.>>

This is how the cursor is SUPPOSED to react?
Cause when I do that, the cursor disappears in the bottom left hand corner and suddenly appears at the top right-hand corner.

If litePad fix is activated and working, if you pick up the pen and put it down in the extreme top right corner it should not follow. If you put it down 1 cm away it will. if you approach the upper R hand corner with the pen on the tablet it will hesitate at the boundary of "the corner" ("the corner" is a square the size of the square to click on to turn off a program).

Bit Bucket, we will be interested in what happens. Will they actually fix it or not, what it is they did, and whether it is consistently reproducible (and exclusive), or they do one of a half-dozen things that sometimes works, without anyone probably knowing why.
