Hi Sierra,
Thanks for the 'success' report.
What kind of error are you seeing when you try to upload the images. There's a hard limit (97k or something like that) for uploads. You may need to shrink 'em.
I just successfully reassembled the TC1100 after updating the "non-user accessible" RAM from 256*MB to 1GB. It booted on the first try, and no extra screws. :D I left the 265*MB stick in the user slot, so I now have 1.25 GB. It's noticeably faster to boot.
It's a royal pain to access the internal memory, I'll post pictures of the internals once I find a place to put them. (The forum isn't letting me upload any right now. I get an error.) The memory I put in was a Kingston model KTM-TP9828/1G FRU 33R4967. I took this out of another system, so it may not be the best, but it works.
All in all, I got some great pictures, I know all about the internals now, and I got the memory upgraded. I'm happy. [8D]

You still around Sierra?
If so, how'd you go with these pictures? Interested in doing it...
Current: Toshiba Tecra M4 PTM40A with 2GB RAM running Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate.
Old: HP/Compaq TC1100 with 2GB RAM, 7,200rpm HDD and Intel 2200 MiniPCI running Vista Ultimate.
It would be great to see pictures of this.! I have .5 GB and I will probably upgrade. The mouse pointer is slow sometimes, a clear sign of disk swapping.
Anything special to consider? Must it be HP memory? Thanks.
Edit: Is there any risk that my .5 GB that I have already is actually two 0.25 GB modules? Thanks.
Generally, being a loser and not owning a TC1100 is equivalent.
Hi MathSW
Go here and look at the 2nd picture.quote:

If you the memory slot is already occupied then your 512 meg is 256 on the internal memory slot and 256 in the user accessible memroy slot (visible in the picture).
