I could never get the SP2 ready disk to work. I ended up just going with the clean install disk described at the top of this thread and installing SP2 immediately after. Been a week, seems to run without a hitch.

Which gives you instructions for how to take a XP CD and pre-patch SP2 on to, it then burn a new XP with SP2 CD. Just curious if anyone has yet to try combining that method with the method laid here for making a XP Tablet install CD? After a quick glance at both methods, I don't see why they wouldn't both work towards ultimately creating a XP Tablet 2005 CD, but before I tried it out, I was just curious if anyone else has already tried?

I wish Toshiba would offer a clean Tabletpc with SP2 recovery disk with all the apps in a seperate folder or disk.

You're not the only one. ;) I only got my m200 a week or so ago, and was surprised that they didn't have SP2 loaded on it. In fact a lot of my time has gone to doing version updates, which obviously weren't stock because Toshiba uses an image that they haven't updated at all in a while.

I'm german and i bought a m200 with an english os on it. i would like to create a german xp-tablet-edition cd using my standard xp-cd (which is german). is it possible to use all the files from my german xp-edition and only add the (english) tablet-specific files?

Perhaps, the necessary tablet-pc files are not language-specific...

If that does not work, because the tabletpc.cab is in english:
Is it possible to use this file from my old acer c102 disks (german)?

I believe if you search around in the Compaq forum you'll find the exact answer to your question. I remember the instructions I read having been for the German disk originally. It was on some site called www.tc-one-thousand.com or .net or something along those lines also.

It should be possible to use your old tabletpc.cab also, but you just might have to run some more updates after you're done.

Randyspawn: I got that error too, but I fixed it by renaming this folder C:\I386\winntupg to C:\I386\winntupg_ ... The installation will complain that they're missing and won't allow you to make an "upgrade" install ... but who cares about that anyway?

new here, and would like to konw how i can make the tablet PC install disk for the ACER c110. i recently found a WINXP component (which contains a tablet I386 dir) cd but cant get the install to work. i followed the guidlines on the M200 but i guess i need more files from the I386 dir... the prob is i cant extract anything from the acer images.

I just got my m200 today, and cant find the CMPNENTS directory. Shouldnt it be in c:\windows\ where I386 is?

How big is the directory? Would it be possible for someone to send it to me? (if the directory would be the same as mine)
