here is some more from Alias Sketchbook Pro. Nothing in color, I just wanted to get used to the tablet as a drawing medium first, before getting in to color. What more better then some sketches from some old Civil War photos!

This is so great people! Hey Spencer - what say we put this topic in a general forum so not just the Motion people have a chance to contribute? This is a great way for all of us to see what is possible with the TPC...
You got it! Got some very nice artwork coming out here.

Awesome, you've got to be an artist irl, right?!

I can really tell where the pressure sensitivity comes into play with these pics.

It was always a 15 day trial, but after the 15 days, you lose some functionality.
Well not really -- we had a lite version that we had ready for the November launch of the TabletPC. It was the result of 2 months of really hard work by the Sketchbook team. But it didn't have layers, and was restricted to 1024x1024 canvas size. Version 1.0 Pro came out on January 23.

As of January 23, the lite version is no longer available. Instead, Sketchbook Pro V1.0 gives you 15 free actual usage days of full functionality (over any number of calendar days). If after using it on 15 unique days, you don't feel that the software is worth the price, it scales back its functionality to a bit less than what the original lite version had -- you get no layers, no custom brushes -- only the 7 brushes on the marking menus, no color selection -- only the 7 colors on the color menu, no screen grab, and the canvas size is locked to 1024x1024.

By the way guys, this discussion is great -- it's really rewarding to see what people can do with my work. It's ironic -- I've been writing software for artists that mimics pencils, markers, pens and airbrushes for over 8 years, but my own artistic ability is limited to stick figures :-) (But I'm an absolute perfectionist when it comes to the behaviour of the tools -- I won't call it a pencil unless it produces lines that look and feel indistinguishable from the real thing.)

Another great thing about the tablet: The pencil lead doesn't smear on your hand as you draw.

Eh..you have to use the smudge tool...

OK, so it's an advantage more often than not, i agree. :)

Ameline, thanks for writing such a great product! sketchbook Pro is perfect for the tablet, whereas products like Painter are way overloaded with features and palettes (trying to be all things to all people) that they take away from a pure drawing experience! Sketchbook Pro was the first app I bought for my tablet and I have not looked back!

I'm enjoying Sketchbook a lot also. Drawing on the tablet was one of the major reasons I bought one. Sketch has a nice feel to it. One of the first thing that I did was to draw a background image for my tablet desktop.

Sorry I don't have any pics to post at the moment.
