Hi, Over the past week and a half my mouse ha

Hi,

Over the past week and a half my mouse has been going nuts. It keeps jumping to either the lower left or right corners of the screen. Sometimes it appears to click and open the start menu. This is making me go crazy. I go to click on something and its as though them mouse is fighting me, it trys to go back to the lower corners.

Someone please help me or I might just launch this tablet out the window.

Before I could even finish this post the mouse jumped down to the start menu and opened help and support more than 5 times.

PLEASE HELP

Hey an update,

Could this possibly be a trojan or something where some or something has gained access to my computer. Just a few minutes ago it was fighting back so bad I could not move the mouse off of the start button. I got an idea and unplugged the ethernet cable from my tablet. Like magic i seemed to gain control of my mouse.

this is weird.

It could be a trojan, especially if it quits when you've disconnected from the internet. It could also be that your trackpoint mouse is stuck (try taking off the red "dot" and cleaning around it). If it is doing it's own clicking though, it probably isn't that. Also, if you haven't installed anything else in the last week and a half you could try a system restore back to a point before it started happening. A couple ideas there... maybe one will help!

Hey,

I updated my mcafee during the past week and a half. do you think that could have done anything. it completely uninstalled the old version then gave me some newer one.

The mouse started moving on its own when I was diconnected from the internet so I know it is probably a software issue.

Does this happen when the CPU is very active? You might be having the jumping cursor problem where the RF energy generated by the CPU at high load is picked up by the digitizer and interpreted as a pen click. This used to drive me crazy -- any time I'd scroll down in Word, the page would suddenly scroll to the END of the doc.

Some people had luck with a return, some people just used Notebook Hardware Control to lower the CPU voltage.

I read the other discussion and lowered my voltage. The mouse still occasionally jumps to the lower corners but it is no where near as bad as before.

this is NOT a trojan. it is a problem with the digitizer in the screen. i'm having the same problem, as have many others. you need to send the unit back to lenovo to be fixed. that's just annoying, so I haven't done that yet.
