I have the Fujitsu docking station, and I have a couple of concerns. First, I use Dragon voice recognition heavily, and I have my microphone attached to the docking station. In between patients I'll go to the dock, attach the Tablet, and dictate. In general works well.
BUT, I sort of wonder about whether the Dock is really geared toward docking and undocking 30 times a day. Seems to be making more noise when I attach and unattach now, and the latch doesn't seem as smooth. I'm not sure that it is really built for this type of heavy use.
Also, when I unattach from the dock, it seems to take several, sometimes over 30 seconds, for the computer to recognize that the various USB devices are "unplugged". Takes this long for the Windows two-toned noise indicating each of the devices is now unattached. And during this time, some functions (such as switching windows on the bottom of the screen, and the Start menu) seem hung up/delayed. Anyone else experience this?
For the above reasons, I'm using the Dock more selectively, when I'll be sitting down at the desk for awhile, rather than when I am on the move, fast, in between patients. I have to plug the USB microphone directly into the Tablet when I work in this manner if I want to dictate in between each patient visit.
