Has anyone noticed a lack of calibration on the tablet pen? that is, even after you perform a calibration, the pointer does not match the point on the screen where you touch with the tip of the pen. I'm finding this annoying, especially since it is not consistent across the screen.

Another issue I have is with the area of the screen near the buttons being hotter than any other area on the screen.

Has anyone else noticed anything similar?

The M200 has similar issues, although they're not bugs per say.

    • There will always be a slight parallax between the pen tip and the cursor on the screen given the digitizer is several millimeters above the LCD itself. The workaround is in your mind: focus on the location of the pointer or pen on the screen, not the physical pen itself.
    • The backlight is likely there. One edge of the M200 also gets hot. I just learn not to rest my hand there.

For calibration, I have read a few times that a way to "check" the effectiveness of the process is to recalibrate with the machine flat on a table, stand over the tablet when calibrating, and, with the pen absulutely straight vertically (no lean in any direction), click the dead center of each calibration cross. When complete, your pen point and the screen pointer should line up when the pen is again vertically straight. From what I gather, the combination of visual parallax and impact of the tilt of the pen alters the calibration effectiveness. Now... due to parallax, the pen and pointer will not line up visually (from a normal working angle) after this calibration exercise -- but it will show whether the parallax and tilt were effecting the perceived/actual callibration.

Are you saying that the cursor's X/Y distance relative to the pen tip changes over time (losing calibration), or that it is different from one area of the screen to the other?
