I don't know, but I don't think that it will work. While the bios might power the PCMCIA slot during the boot process I don't think there is any way to make it recognize the slot as a boot device. I remember we used to do this with external hard drives connected to a laptop with a pcmcia card to "create" a multi-boot system but as I recall we needed a special bootloader installed on the pcmcia card to make it work.
Best thing - try it out and report your results!
