Hello!

I have a Acer C314XMi and I noticed that when I go into my system properties windows where it shows my processor speed. It says its 2.00Ghz, but running at 789Mhz. After a short time it display 2.0 Ghz. Is this something with windows or is it a hardware issue?

Also another question is in regards to the freezing issue that everyone been having. Did Acer find the fix for it? from what I read it had something to do with the SD Card slot.

In regards to your CPU speed issue, that's ePowerManagement with Intel SpeedStep at work. When you're on battery, the CPU is set to a lower clock speed to save power. When you're back on AC, it comes back up to 2.0ghz. Right-click on the green bar in your tray, point to CPU speed, and choose the option that's right for you. You can also fiddle around with some custom power schemes so that you can adjust the speed to your liking.

The fix to the freezing issue that most people found worked was to remove the SD card slot filler, or simply push it out and back in a couple of times during the freeze-up. Acer hasn't really done much about it. Right now I have an actual card in there and have not had any issues since.

Wow out of 30 people who viewed this your the onyl one that replied. Thanks. In concerns with the SD card, I saw an updated file on acer webpage for the C310. The update was in concern of have the SD card read properly. I was wondering if any applied the patch and still have the freezing issue.

I do not think a lot of people have tried that because the date on it seems very recent. I haven't been able to reproduce the problem lately, even with the filler, and I won't risk trying the new drivers (I don't want to fix something that isn't broken). If I do, I'll try it. Is there anyone here who still has the problem who wants to try it?

In regards to replies: I believe that counter you see also counts the views of people who aren't members, so that may be why I'm the "only one" replying.
