I am getting a terrible scratching sound from my hard drive every time i turn the computer on. It sounds awful - really loud. I want to replace the hard drive. What is the best and / or cheapest replacement option? What kind of hard drive should I search for? I am in the UK. Any specific reccommendations? Thank you so much!

Are you looking for increased performance compared to your current drive (when it worked)? If so, look into a 7200 RPM drive. They are significantly more expensive, but also make your system noticibly faster.
