Joly,
Acer has posted a patch to fix clocks that are losing time as a result of a bug in the latest BIOS. The patch is called C100patch.exe and you can download it from here:

I just happened on to this site yesterday. I bought an Acer a week and a half ago on line. I was just wondering if anyone else is having trouble with the clock slowing down. I saw some posts at the Acer website and even called support. Their suggestion was to ship it in as the battery on the motherboard must be bad and needs to be replaced. But having seeing how many others have the problem I question it. Everything else works fine so I hid the clock, out of sight out of mind.
I can see I have alot to learn from reading all the posts and responses!!! But this place is fantastic!
Thanks! joly

I don't mean to be dumb but I'm new to PC's and a tablet, but what is BIOS? I know you all must be giggling.
I will download the patch, I just don't want to mess anything up, then I'll have to ask more silly questions.[:I]
Thanks!

joly,
BIOS is the Basic Input Output System.
When you start (boot) your Acer, software code is being read from a chip that is always available. Code to control the keyboard and pen, digitizer and other peripherals is read and understood. Once the computer understands this stuff it goes and reads software off the hard-drive to load your Tablet Operating system.
Manufacturers provide updates and patches (fixes) that replace/modify this code and that's why it is sometimes necessary to run these uuupdate to BIOS programs.
There are some good tutorials on the web. Keep learning. [eureka]

HTH,
Thanks for the help and info. I'm trying to learn as much as I can!
So far the patch has worked for the clock, its kept time for the last 24 hours! And I now have it showing again.:-)
