Default I would like to replace a Wacom tablet with a Ta

I would like to replace a Wacom tablet with a Tablet PC. Currently I use a PC and Painter as my software of choice for drawing.

I would appreciate your comments about your experience with Tablet PC for drawing and painting. Which is the best tablet pc in your opinion and what pros and cons you have found.

In general I would like to have good color representation, presure sensitive pen (is there any with tilt sensor?), and the best resolution possible. Of course a good performance would be desirable as many drawing tools take lots of CPU power. Weight is also an important consideration for me.

    You comments are welcome!

Boy, I like my Tablet PC, but I don't know if I would recommend switching from a desktop because of the speed you get with even a "half old" machine.

If you're looking for mobility, then I would say "go for it," however.

I'm no pro, but I've worked with art programs on the Tablet and I like them. I've seen what pros can do with the Tablet, and I am impressed.

I have no idea about tilt on the Tablet pen, however. I don't remember seeing any mention of it in the Wacom drivers for Tablet PCs.

    Good luck!

I would recommend a tablet with the largest screen resolution, like the Fujitsu T4000 with an SXGA+ screen. It has good performance and is reasonably svelte. The Fujitsu pen is crap, so buy a pack of Motion Computing ones. I've heard of (and plan to buy) some after market nibs from Wacom that make your pen feel closer to a real pencil, and some screen protectors specifically designed to have a paper-feel.

There is no tilt sensitivity (which would be great) but the pressure sensitivity is excellent.

I have not found the Fujitsu T4020 in Europe ! I have found the T4010 but it is only 1024x768.

Anything wrong with an M4? You get a 1400x1050 14" pressure sensitve tablet
