It happened rather spontaneously. The pure blacks are flickering red. The pure whites (such as this page) become vertical interlacing blue lines. What's the deal...
I've had this machine for almost a year. How long is default waranty? Will it cover stuff like this?
I'm almost 100% sure it's a hardware issue, either the video card itself or a connection to/from it. So far I've ruled out software issues, ram, power, drivers. This is definitely a hardware problem.
Anyone else experienced this?
Specs:
Tecra M4
2gb kingston ram
128mb nVidia 6600
the rest is standard/irrelevant

Have you tried powering down the machine ?
I have seen the display driver go haywire when unexpectedly exiting some games.
First thing that hit me after looking at the pictures was to reload the drivers. Certainly helps narrow the possibilities.quote:Originally posted by wthor

Of course it may be the display itself as well. I saw a similar artifact ( random width bleeding with a fixed left margin ) on my sisters Medion. That turned out to be a broken display.
Check how the display looks on an external monitor. If it is fine, your LCD panel is probably haywire. If it is the same, you probably have a software issue.
I had this problem a day after mflux did...It fixed itself twice for a short bit of time, but each time it's gone back to this messed up state, and it hasn't fixed itself for several days. Each time, it went away as mysteriously as it came...I didn't move the computer or anything when it messed up, it just happened. Oh, and if it helps, it appears perfectly fine on an external display. Have you had any luck fixing the problem?
Thanks!
