I get that bad on my system sometimes under high CPU load. I fully don't expect any kind of fix until Vista given how long it took them to fix the TIP memory leak.
I have an M200 and it works great but the mouse lag problem (or whole machine temporary freeze) drives me nuts big time. I even have a batch file to kill all non essential services and it still happens.
Anyway, have you guys seen this article at the MS site???

And by the way, this problem happens even when the processor is not being heavily used. I noticed it mostly occurs when opening the menus from Start, and while it is frozen, the CPU utilization stays low (or the task manager cannot update its display because it is frozen too). And it only happens on TabletPCs by the way, imagine what would have happened if this bug was in every Windows XP installation (it would have been fixed already).

No solution, but atleast now i know what the cause is.... bloody microsoft
I have the Toshiba R15-S829 and my mouse will freeze or not respond to touch. I have noticed that it does this usually when the computer is not still and the hard drive protection is active. I don't know if that is the same issue you guys are having with the other machines.
I'm getting the same. I'm in the process of rebuilding my system now, and building brick by brick to find where the problem comes from. I get the feeling it's software-based. Mine freezes mostly when right-clicking items. Same with you guys?

Well my M200 seems to MOUSE LAG when I right mouse clikc and anytime the Hard drive is in use....at least it seems that way to me...
Im getting it on my M4300 sometimese but not nearly as much as the m200
I have a tecra M4 that my artist uses for our website. The Mouse lag thing is driving me crazy. I do the tech setup and Just seeing that makes me want to throw the thing against the wall sometimes. It's definitely something software related since it does not happen if the machine is booted up in Safe mode. So far I've tried booting with the Nvidia drivers off, and it still stutters. so it's not the graphics card drivers. It's definitely an issue with hard drive access....I'm wondering if the mainboard drivers are screwed up in relation to the DMA access to the drive, it's gotta be something like that, or maybe the PCI express drivers aren't working right.
using patience i can get the task manager up and iexplorer shows 90% or greater usage. if i kill it the system goes back to working correctly. I have the latest Nortons and i have rebuilt the system so i know it is not a virus or spyware. I do run a lot of compute intesive applications (ironcad, truespace, visual studio ...). this happens about once a day.
