I just sent an email to sales @ Motion, but I'm really getting frustrated, so I'll try here too: I ordered a Clamshell Portfolio on March 28. Can you tell me why it's taking so long to get to me? :-(

We did receive a batch of cases that were not up to our standards. We have been calling customers and offering alternatives including waiting for the next batch (from a new vendor), taking a different case, or canceling the order.

I guess its good that you didn't send me an inferior case, but I would have appreciated getting that call. Yes, I would like to have an idea of timing on the new batch when and if you can find out, because I really want that case.

I ordered through your master distributor in Canada (Filbitron) and they too told me my case was on back-order, this must be why :). I'd really like to know when those cases are coming because at the moment I'm using a big laptop case (it's all I have) and wrapping my tablet up in two towels and a pillow case for padding!

A follow-up: I received my Clamshell Portfolio today, and I definitely like it! (Thanks, Steve, for looking into it, which resulted in the phone call I got yesterday--the news that it was already on its way was welcome indeed).

I think more awareness of this kind of case is needed--for the benefit of those who still think they "must" have a convertible Tablet, and don't realize just how happy they could be with the lighter slate form factor, but still without sacrificing easy and convenient use as a "laptop" for those times they might want to use a keyboard!!

As I've said before on this board and elsewhere, if you think you "must" have a convertible Tablet, you really might be shortchanging yourself. The lightness and flexibility of the Motion (and other slates too, I guess), is wonderful! :D
