I searched around and wasnt able to find anything. Is there some software out there that will allow using the hardware buttons to launch application according to how many times in a row or how long you hold the button pressed?

I am using a palm and this is a basic functionality and very useful. I imagine to press a hardware button three times shortly and it would launch outlook, pressing it two times would launch explorer and holding this button for 1 second would switch the tablet into stand by (for example). Since my tablet has three customizable buttons, I could set up like this majority of apps I use on daily bases and wouldnt need to launch them using the pen.

Even cooler would be if this "dream" utility could dynamically switch functionality of hardware buttons according to what program is currently open, i.e. a button long push in outlook would launch a different action/app than a long push of the same button in onenote.

Any ideas?
