Im just curious to see how many people here use a Toshiba R15 and how they feel about it?

    Me?
I love my R15 its beautiful and turns heads wherever i go. :)
Finally managed to make a clean install of WinXP Tablet Ed on it. Drivers seem easy to come by. (All except the audio drivers)
BTW For those of you that are stumped at how to use the screen rotate button: hold up your laptop vertically in tablet mode in the direction that you want to use it and hold the button for a second or two. VOILA!

Yes weight is a problem - its a bit heavy. If im not too careful it gets quite warm as well.
    But overall, i like it.

    Dont like it....

    Heavy
    Bad resolution
Lag on the pen with any drawing program (well, all of the tablets....)

    etc.....

KAT - didn't you just create a post that you recently bought the R15 and were returning it because you wanted the best, rather the entry level tablet? That may skew your results somewhat. I think you got some good advice in your other post about moving to a different model line to help achieve your goals.

have an r10 with 1gig memory, 1.8 processor, and i have NONE of the probelms reported by kat. i like it a lot. have no problems running adobe cs, or sketchbook pro.

what i don't understand is why someone would buy a computer without researching it, and if buying it at a store, at least playing with it for awhile. gee...you would have noticed at least the resolution.

i have a 19" sony lcd on my desktop, and the screen on my r10 is at least as clear as that one.

I have an M205 and an R15...love them both.

I use the 205 when I'm on the road and essentially use the R15 as my desktop in the office. Have had no lag problems but did add a lot of RAM. Resolution on the R15 does not adversely impact my work or surfing and I've always got the 205 if I needbetter. The drive is abit slow, but I don't use it much and would prefer a second battery actually, although battery life on both machines has been more than 3hours and is OK forÂ*my needs.

I've had a TC1100 and tried the Fujitsu 1510 and am solidly in Toshiba's camp (at least till Apple does something).

I just bought my R15 at circuitcity for a fabulous $999 and I am a particularly happy camper. I originally wanted to buy a tc4200 but at a price 1/3 less, the R15 was very hard to beat. Still getting to know it but I can already see that it is going to radically change my computer life as the tivo did for my tv life. Now I just neeed a real life. :)

I like mine, aside from the aforementioned heaviness.

I'm a new Tablet user. Bought the R15 primarily because of the price. I'm having a great time with it and am determined to use it to replace my desktop (which is part of a network).

Weight doesn't seem any worse than other laptops I've had. Battery time seems very good. Screen resolution is fine for my business applications. Even the Standby mode seems to work. Pen is kinda cheap, so I'll probably go with the Cross pen.

Took a while to get rid of the bloatware and I'm not sure if I got it all.

    All in all- very pleased.

Hey, good to hear others are enjoying the R15. Am pretty close to buying one too, having not failed to notice the primo Circuit City price.

Am still considering a Gateway. First time I checked out the R15, I too noticed the cheapness of the pen. My first Gateway experience was much more pleasurable for the more-comfortable-for-my-big-hand pen.

Where does one get the Cross? And how much more is it?

Looking forward to purchasing one or the other this week.

    I'm big into handwriting.
