Well a faster 5400RPM hard drive would be faster, but it would also severly limit your battery life. The reason the Tablet is slower in most cases is because the CPU speed scales down by half when on battery power in order to conserve energy.
Who here has upgraded their hard drive not only for size but also for performance reasons and if you have what hard drive did you decide on? My desktop is also a 933MHZ and is noticably faster then my Motion which has 512mb more RAM. The lag is noticeable when opening and closing programs so I am assuming that the hard drive may be the bottleneck in this case. I read somewhere that the Gateway has a 13% performance increase because it uses a better hard drive. Any experienced feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

I've got a post in the general section asking for help upgrading my hard drive in my Motion M1200. I think the 20GB in my M1200 is only a 4200 RPM, but it's an Hitachi/IBM Travelstar, so they used a good brand. I bought a 40GB 5400 RPM Travelstar to replace it, but am having no luck trying to make in image of the original by attaching it to my EIDE on my desktop (I bought a 2.5 inch to 3.5 inch cable converter for just this purpose), but for some reason my Dell Dimension 8200 won't recognize the drive no matter what I do.
So I wish I could tell you what happens when using a 5400 RPM drive in the M1200, but I can't get mine to work in it! So if anyone out there has done this before (made a mirror of one drive to replicate/copy to a new drive) and has any pointers or knows what I'm doing wrong, please let me know! Much thanks!
