Ok. so... i have an acer 303XMi tablet pc. Worked great. I 'wore the mouse in' to the point that it wouldn't click anymore. So i sent it into tech support. They send it back, but there is one problem, the computer randomly restarts, and the screen turns weird colors with columns(?!?). so, i call back, and they give me another ticket # and a pickup date. I back up my data (which involves booting off of a boot cd i made) and then wipe the HD. I send it in, and get it back. The screen works fine. It didn't dawn on me to check the CD drive, or the sound. Turns out, neither of them work at all. Sound is totally dead (no, its not a problem with the os). and the cd drive ejects, and spins up, so its not a power issue. Before i knew about the sound, i decided to call up acer and have them ship me a new cd drive. It only seems logical that it got damaged during the shipping process or something like that. Well, i get the new one, put it in, and guess what.. it doesnt work. Later on, the i discover that the sound doesn't work.
so
my question is. did they forget to plug in some wires, or is the motherboard bad. if they forgot to plug some wires in, i can probably open the laptop up and plug them back in. this is really getting me ticked that acer can't 'fix' a computer with out causing another problem.
