    Hello clarman,

    There is a known issue that the Gateways have a coating on the screen when first delivered from the factory.

    I found that the sense of needing excessive pressure went away after thoroughly cleaning the screen.

    By the way, the cleaning cloth that Gateway provides with these models is perfectly suited for removing the film. No need for spray cleaners or anything else, just a twice-over or so with the cloth that has the right "tooth" to remove the film without any damage to the screen. You'll notice a big difference after cleaning.
