mikep,
By second power supply, do you still mean the small plug-in transformer that comes standard with the computer or something like an external battery?
Hi all,
I am looking for a second power supply for my M1400VA. Can anyone recommend an alternative that is good for carrying around?
Be even better if the power supply can also charge a Sony Ericsson phone.[8D]

I mean a 110 volts power cord and adaptor.
Yes, there are third party "universal power supplies" with various tips, so you can find a tip that fits the Motion.... can't think of who makes it, though. I think Targus has one, but I wouldn't recommend anything from Targus due to shoddy quality.
If I remember the manufacturer I will post it.
Maybe iGo Juice? www.igo.comquote:Originally posted by ChrisParis

I've been using the Kensington universal power supply with the windup cable since about last April. It has worked well converting AC and 12v DC for my 1400. I get the feeling the iGo, targus and Kensington power supplies are all made at the same factory with different shells applied later. Every universal supply has tip that you can use with Motion products.
It looks to me Kensington has discontinued the version that has a retractable cord. The new version, you seem to have to buy the tips seperately.. anybody know the code for the tips for the M1400VA?
Thanks..
Amazon has the older version with the retractable cord... is this a good one that I should get anyway?
I have the Kensington DC Auto/Air Adapter Model No. K33069 and I am successfully using tip "A" with the M1400VA. The Kensington adapter is larger than the one Motion provides and costs more, but it does have the option to use in your car.
I also picked up a Dell laptop power supply at a garage sale for a buck that works fine too.
One more question (for now):
I see there are 70 watts power supplies and 120 watts units. Would a 70 watts do the job? They are smaller, etc.
Much thanks everyone!
The 70 watt is all you need.
