Guys, i need your help with this one.

I wanna buy a tablet pc, and would like to know your comment on convertible Vs slate. Also, i heard that the NEC versa Lite has a wirelss keyboard. How big is it? As for myself,

i had a Acer Travel mate laptop (bad experience). Also, my acer cd-rom open by itself, and spun out the cd inside like a UFO. This made me fearful of Acer.

I also use a compaq desktop, which is not as bad as acer, but close. Thats why i am kind of uneasy about buying these 2 brands again.

I think that i will use my tablet mostly for note-taking and web surfing while i am outside, while doing papers or spreadsheet while at home. Performance-wise, how is that Compaq TC-1000? or something like that? It uses a CPU which i never heard before.

Pls share your valuable experience and make my purchasing process more enjoyable.

Sorry guys...i also need opinion about the weight issue. I am really in favor for light weight things...also..comments about the Motion TPC?

There has been a TON of discussion on the forums already on this issue. Please search around for a bit. I think you will find that you will need to make up your own mind on this. Each Tablet available today has its own advantages and disadvantages. No one model stands out from the rest for all people.

One thing I will warn you about. You mentioned that you will be spending most of your time outside with your Tablet. If this isn't going to be at night, NONE and I repeat NONE of the current crop of Tablet PCs will do the job for you. None of them have a transreflective screen, which is a required element if you want to use an LCD in direct sunlight. Now, if you can be shaded, you might get by. Just so you go into this with your eyes open.

Again, my main advice is to search the forums first. The questions you've asked have been hashed and rehashed here over and over again. You should have any trouble finding what you are after.
