OK ... I'll start :-)
Is anyone using the Targus drive? Found it online. Seems to be lightweight and I think it draws power from one or two USB ports.

Took the plunge ... bought a tc4200, which BTW ... I ordered at 4pm EST one day and was on my doorstep before 9am EST the next. Great job by Business Compuing Network, www.gotobcn.com
So now I am looking for a slimline, USB-powered CD/RW drive to carry with it. What is working for all you 4200/1100 owners? I don't need it to record DVD but playing them would be nice.
Thanks in advance!

I settled on this one:-

Although it has an external power supply, the TC1100 pushes enough power from the lower USB port to power it using the USB cable only. I also have a LaCie 80GB external HD that is powered by cable only.
You might try this optical drive, as its cheaper and fits the requirements you listed:-

Thanks ... just placed an order for the drive you suggested!
