Default Hi all, I received the T4020D on Monday and h

    Hi all,

I received the T4020D on Monday and had the "bluescreen" error message, Stop: 0x000000D1, 2 or 3 times a day. I have tried to reinstall the software for 5 times, twice today, and it's still doing the same thing. It does it randomly.

I called Fujitsu and was told that it was a hardware problem and asked me to send it back for a repair service. I sent emails to portableone and was told that it might be the Atheros wireless card problem. He suggested me to ask Fujitsu to send me a replacement wireless card, but the Fujitsu tech support told me to get the whole unit replaced through portableone. I have spent almost a week trying to fix the problem since it arrived. It is a very good machine, except the annoying bluescreen crash.

Should I return it, repair it, or ...?

Appreciate for any suggestions! - Merry Xmas!

Why don't you just return that to Fujitsu for repair. It is apparant it is not the software issue (as you said you installed 5 times already; usually if one re-intall does not good, it is usually a hardware problem. For a peace of mind, I suggest you retrn it to Fujitsu as its tech support asked you. It seems it is under warranty and let them fix the problems on your machine.

Try to see if they can cross ship a new one, and take this one back. At least, you won't have to wait for a long time to use your new T4020D.

Thanks. Yeah, I felt kinda silly last night while working on the computer - it was THE christmas eve! A brand new computer should have worked perfectly out of box. My first Fujitsu!

    Thank you all.

Aisusa, I also ordered a T4020 back in August from PortableOne and used the computer for about three weeks and started to get Blue Screen with Hardware Failure every time I used the PC Card with my Verizon Wireless Card. I called Fujitsu and they where very helpful. I explained everything and he said I had two choices, one send it back to them for repair because this was something with the hardware, or two I could take it to a nearby Authorize dealer for them. I took it to a nearby dealer he gave me some options to which one. They ended up replaceing the MotherBoard, PC Card slot, A/C connection and the CPU. It has been working ever since with no problems.

Thank you, ElCamino! I wish we're the only two having this problem. When I called Fujitsu, the tech told me that he had never heard this problem before. Portableone told me that it should be just the wireless card problem. From your experience, it appears that there are more than just the PCI wireless card problem. Wow, replacing almost everything? Why didn't they just give you a new one? Since I just received my computer last Monday, I "think" I'll just ask for a replacement - I wish! School's going to start in a week, and I need the computer by then. I wish they can cross ship a replacement. My very first Fujitsu, wish everything goes smoothly after this. I'll keep you guys posted. Thank you all.

Was it just the bad luck or ...?
After a very long wait, I finally received the replacement, T4020D, on Tuesday. To my surprise, the bluescreen AR5211.SYS error appaeared about 4 times before calling the tech support today. I was told that I needed the new, 4.1.2.38, driver. So I did which doesn't solve the problem. Within 2 hours, it popped up 3 times! I called the tech again but got --- "don't know what to suggest!" I was then suggested to send it back to replace another new one or send it back for a repair! He also mentioned that the WLAN was installed on the motherboard and can't be replaced by other mini PCI card.

I just don't believe that I'm the only one who has this problem with T4020D. If you have the same ar5211.sys driver problem with T4020D or other models, how did you resolve this driver problem? Thanks a million!

I would send it back. It sounds like a hardware problem. I'm typing this using T4020D at university WiFi network. BSOD is usually a hardware problem, unless it's due to a buggy hardware driver.

If possible, get a complete replacement.
