    Hi everyone,

I came across this website from Google, it's a great website and you guys really seem to know your stuff. I'm a financial advisor and i'm pretty much out of the office for at least half the day so i've been looking to get a new portable notebook. I'm leaning towards getting a tablet pc since it's pretty portable and i figure it would be use when making presentations to my clients. If anyone has any experience with a tablet pc in this type of environment i would appreciate it if you could let me know how it works out.

For Tablet PCs, i've narrowed it down to either a Fujitsu ST5030 or a Acer C200. Does anyone have any experience with either or both of these units? The Acer seems like a really good deal considering it has just about everything and the kitchen sink, but i've heard that the build quality and after sales service wasn't up to scratch. On the other hand i like the styling on the Fujitsu but it's pretty expensive and it only has a 1.2Ghz cpu. I work in Singapore so the only brands available to me are HP, IBM, Fujitsu, Toshiba and Acer. I appreciate any comments you guys have. Thanks.

I have one of the slightly older Fujitsu ST5010 series slates and my experiences have been nothing short of excellent. The fit and finish on the ST series is excellent and to date I have had zero problems with it.
The primary difference between the two systems that you have detailed is that one is a convertible while the other is a slate i.e. the Acer has a built in keyboard while the Fujitsu does not.

Either one of these would most likely fill the role of presentations to clients fairly well, so the choice will most likely come down to the following criteria.

    -Form Factor (Slate or Convertible)
    -CPU (Type and Speed)
    -Max Memory
    -Storage options
-Screen Size, composition, and viewability angles
-Graphics Processor (the Acer is available with a 265mb GeForceGo 6200)
    -Wireless options
    -Bluetooth Options

I would list out which options are available on each system and decide which ones you require most. Somewhere in that process, it should become evident which system is going to best fit your needs.

    Hope this is helpful,

I am a very happy ST5030 owner (two months) and it fits my needs perfectly but if I was traveling for business with it I would have thought twice about buying a slate (no keyboard) over a convertible (fold-under keyboard).

Don't get me wrong, my slate's handwriting recognition happens to match my writing perfectly and I truly prefer handwriting on the screen over typing. Being a hobbyist writer, that was a big reason why I bought the slate.

But if I was using my Tablet for business I'd likely worry more about hurriedly writing things and I think it would be inconvenient to drag along a keyboard. I probably would have gone with the convertible.

By the way, Fujitsu makes a nice convertible as well.
