Default First off, I do not have a "top-of-the-line" tab

First off, I do not have a "top-of-the-line" tablet (far from it in fact). It is based on the FIC SlateVision model (Transmeta Crusoe TM5800 processor ~1 GHz and 624MB ram) and is probably close to the TC1000 in performance. I do realize that with this model I am not going to get blinding speed from my applications, but the difference in response between version 2005 and the 2006 beta are like night and day. Here are some results of tests I ran:

From application start until it is fully loaded and ready to go:
    2005: 18 seconds
    2006 beta: 1 minute, 5 seconds

Once loaded, clicking on the “Notes” tab until that screen is loaded and ready to go:
    2005: 2 seconds
    2006 beta: 20 seconds

I have the same 19 page pdf document in each program. Time it takes to open the document and have it fully open and ready to read/annotate:
    2005: 5 seconds
    2006 beta: 34 seconds

Again, I realize that a lot is a result of my tablet, but is anyone else seeing differences on this order of magnitude?

    For the Agilix folks...

Will the final release of GoBinder 2006 be much faster than the current beta?

What are the advertised "system requirements" for 2006?

I haven't done any detailed tests as you have but even on my desktop GoBinder 2006 Beta is much slower than than GoBinder 2005. I like what I see elsewise but the speed or lack there of turns me off. Hope that is fixed by the time of release.

Beta versions of TabletPlanner and PlanPlus for Win XP (similar product to GoBinder, both by Agilix) both had similar if not worse speed issues. Agilix usually had these issues cleared up by final release.

I wouldn't read too much into the speed issues. It will get better - remember, its' only beta at this point and it is an early beta at that.

Perhaps it's a debug compile, and still has all the debugging code in?

Just wanted to say that I'm really liking this 2006 version. I'm not using it for school yet because of the cautionary notes about it being beta but I do use it as a place to make an occasional "note". Will there be an option to link to docs and things from within GoBinder?
