I've had my tablet for a few weeks now and I am absolutely in love with it. I'm curious to know what some of you are doing with your that set you apart from the "masses" of tablet users. What do you do with your tablet that is different, outside the norm, creative?

Me? I don't actually do anything spectacular :-( (manage a handful of servers and a hundred workstations in two offices wirelessly via WiFi and Verizon Braodband WAN w/vpn is about as spectacular as I can get, but that's cool too me! [^])

As more people get small Tablets and big pockets this will become more common. It is helpful to have a real computer while on the go and it is convenient not to have to cart around a computer too big to fit in your pocket.

I use my tablet PC to develop websites and programs as per some of my class assignments, and then use its inking capability to take notes and/or doodle in my other classes.

I use mine to produce works of unperpendiculared mediocrity. And to teach my classes--these may be the best educational tool out there, IMO.

I wear a white cloth, stand up on a rock and hold my tablet up high with the 10 commandments written out using MS Journal.

I sell restaurant supplies and equipment to restaurants.

My tablet has our inventory, my pricelist (in MS Excel) and a program called AutoQuotes that links to 400+ manufacturers.

It helps me sell stuff.

Oh...and I use it to send sample requests, orders and follow up on stuff.

I am also in love with mine.

As a chemistry professor, my LE1600 is my constant companion. I use it for:

A. Note-taking. For seminars and meetings. the tablet has effectively replaced the multitude of individual pieces of paper I used to generate.

B. For writing. Even though I'm a proficient keyboarder, I have always found that I can compose letters and manuscripts much more readily when writing freehand. This meant that I (or a secretary) would have to transcribe - a big time-waster. Now, I write directly. (I am waiting for a tablet-enabled chemistry drawing program.):-)

C. Teaching. This is my favorite use. The tablet has replaced overhead transparencies and detailed PowerPoint slide presentations. Student's follow along better If I write as I speak and the tablet let's me put up a bare outline in PPT and then I write directly on the slide. The resulting class notes are then available for later downloading.
