I'm wondering how the 1600's extended battery performs vs. the published specs.

Anyone have real world usage reports? If so, post how you run your system, too (max brightness, wifi on/off, etc.)

I use the tablet and extended battery a lot for school. I always have wireless on, bluetooth off, display brightness set at 25% for taking notes and 100% when doing problems. I have set one of the hot keys to turn off the display. Therefore I turn the display off quite often to conserve battery. I am not sure how long the battery lasts exactly but I would say 7 hours or so. Here is how my day has gone so far.
    __These are all estimates__
1 hour and 15 minutes of note taking
3 hours of doing problems(reading a lot of the time so I turn off the display)
    1 hour of reviewing notes
and looking at my tablet right now, I have 2 hours left.

So that totals about 7 hours and 15 minutes.

    Works great for me :D

Using centrino hardware control, brightness at 50%, wireless on I'm get about 7 to 7.5 hours before the critical battery warning. Using the motion optomized power profile with standby turned off.

VIPERxGTx2000... what utility do you use to turn on/off the screen from the button? Wizmo perhaps?

I don't have the tablet with me right now but Motion has a program that comes pre-installed onto all LE1600's. It allows you to control the 2 of the 4 buttons that are on it. The other 2 buttons are used in conjunction with the first 2, i.e. pressing button 3 then 1 opens up a certain program. You should find the menu to change the buttons somwhere in the start menu. Motion dashboard perhaps? I don't quite remember. If you still can't find it, I can check later tonight.

I get about 5-6 hours from both batteries taking notes, wireless on, screen at 75%. Graye posted some pretty detailed results of her battery tests here - http://www.tabletpcbuzz.com/forum/to...TOPIC_ID=25912
I think the new bios changed the drawdown order - the extended battery feeds first, then the main, which makes a lot better sense to me.
