I switched it to magnifying glass... and that feature works fine, but switching it back to scroll makes the scroll button non-functional.
I was using a cordless logitech mouse at my desk, and installed the logitech MouseWare software to manage the extra buttons. It somehow overrode the trackpoint control, and I uninstalled it, but somehow the scroll button still does not work. It still shows up under the control panel-->mouse and Thinkpad Configuration, but the fact that it is enabled does nothing. Any advice?

I rolled back the driver, and now it works... although the icon that appears looks different (standard circular windows scroll icon rather than the cartoon of a mouse cursor on a mini scrollbar). But now I can scroll horizontally as well, which I could not do before so maybe this is a good thing...
now the trackpoint tab is gone under mouse options and I lost trackpoint specific options... The scroll button is funtioning like a clicked wheel on a standard windows mouse. I guess I should reinstall the trackpoint driver through an update?
