Hello, all.
I'm here to start the "Help Doc find a tablet, already!" campaign ;)
I'd prefer to find an M1400, but a TC1100 would be runner-up for the right price. What I'm looking for (minimums):
-Motion M1400
-1.1Ghz CPU (2mb cache...not sure if 1mb cache was available)
-RAM and HDD size I'm not concerned with, can upgrade later I guess
-prefer VA screen (obviously)
-Bluetooth
-prefer a/b/g (don't care if Atheros or Intel); have to have B/G minimum
-basic cosmetic issues are okay, no cracks
-HP TC1100
-1.1Ghz CPU, 2mb cache
-must be complete (incl. kb...some online retailers don't include it :( )
-Bluetooth
-cosmetics, RAM, HDD, WiFi same as above
-I actually don't know enough about the platform to know what other considerations to make here...suggestions welcome ;)
I'll be honest up front here...I'm pretty much broke (just finished school, so no real income there, and now having to deal with a contested probate so most of my money is going to the lawyer). I have a little bit of $$ that I'm trying to keep justified for this, as this is honestly a required item for me (professionally, and now in my legal dealings), but I'm still pretty short of being able to win any eBay auctions I've tried.
So I'm playing the pity-card here, and hoping the community can dig something out of a closet that'll work for me.
Thanks for any help!

Doc,
Check out www.pcvideoonline.com and www.bestoptionsdirect.com
I just got a refurbed Portege 3500 (PIII 1.3Ghz, 256mb, Wifi, 40 gig)
for $750.00. When it came, it had 768mb and 60 gig and I added bluetooth for $44.00. It did not look at all like a refurb, in fact, it looked brand new. When I called to tell them about the mistae, they said it would just cost more to ship back and reship, so I could keep it.
It's not the latest cutting edge, but it is a big improvement over my TC1000. And, for the price, it can't be beat.
You have been posting on and off here for a while...it IS time for you to get a tablet.
Another venue, is to check www.pricegrabber.com . thats where I came across the deal at pcvideoonline.
Good luck to you!

faher: Doing what I can. As I said, there's...issues. Right now I have a minor window around those issues, and I'm hoping to take advantage of it. But, uh...thanks for the 'help', I guess.
