If you have your IBM Message Center activated you have probably received notification of a BIOS update available for installation through the Software Installer. My X41 is Model #18666SU.

I just ran the update; the tablet went into DOS and I followed the instructions on the screen. It rebooted and everything seems just as before.

What did I just do? What do you suspect that IBM/Lenovo was updating in the BIOS?

This BIOS version will only work with Embedded Controller Program
Version 1.00 (or higher).

- (Fix) USB devices connected to ThinkPad X4 Dock may not be
recognized in Boot Menu by pressing F12 during POST.

Just installed the bios update on my through the IE Lenovo/IBM update icon. My system is an 1866-6tu

This update still is not showing up in my IBM Message Center.
