Default Does anyone have a suggestion for a wireless rou

Does anyone have a suggestion for a wireless router to go with my LE1600? It will be used at home (i.e., not for business purposes). I have a cable modem from Cox Cable and would like to have wireless access to my connection. I have no experience with wireless routers so any suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks,

    Eric

You need to make sure it is compatable with cable I use a Buffalo wireless router 54g it works really well with my LS800, what I like is I can roam the whole house and even into the garden and still be connected to the net!

There are many brands on the market. Linksys and NetGear are two of the more common. They are all pretty good and easy to setup. As long as it is Wireless G (802.11g) it will work fine with your tablet.
You will have a little work to do once you get it. Cable companies lock your account to one network adapter card's id (the MAC address). Your cable modem will be expecting to see the network card of your tablet (like it does now). Connect your tablet to the wireless router before you connect the router to the cable modem. Tell the router to clone the network card's MAC address. Now connect the router to the cable modem and you should be good to go.

I have a D-Link DI-784 and I don't like it. My desktop is on a 100 Mb/s ether and my LE1600 connects through Wifi. The tablet always says the signal is excellent and it's connected at 54Mb/s but when I try transfers to the desktop it only runs at 5-10 Mb/s. When I connect the tablet to the router with copper I get 80 Mb/s. My Comcast cable connection runs at 3-4 Mb/s so the tablet gets full speed on the Internet. The Wifi connection drops out a few times per hour for no reason. The annoying balloon message in the lower right says it's gone then it says it's back. I don't know why it does it. I bought a Netgear router on ebay to replace it with but I haven't tried it yet.

Does anybody here get the speed from his Wifi connection that he should be getting?

I have a Belkin pre-N router. Works very good with all my Apple, Sony, HP and IBM computers. The LE1600, however, shows intermittent connections although I installed the latest driver (as on all the rest). This is very annoying on Skype in particular. I have no clue about the reason.
    Any similar experience?

I'm using a D-Link DI-574 router and hve never had a problem connecting to my LE1600. The Motion recognized it right away, and I only had to enter my 128 bit password to be up and running. I didn't even have to change the intel driver like I've read that many LE1600 owners have had to do.

I've run the Motion on it every night over the three months since I decided to install wifi with never a slowdown or drop.

Another vote for the Belkin Pre-N, which I use with my M1400. Range goes well outside my house and past my porch, so I can cruise TabletPCBuzz under the sun. Setup was a snap, and throughput is as fast as I could want. My wife is a broadcast engineer, and also recommends Belkin products.

My Linksys works great with my M1300. I've used it for the past 2 years with no problems. I've got a LE1600 on order now so I'll let you know how it works once I receive it.
