OK, lets sort out what you mean by "dead". You said that phillips says it is a "software" problem so it must be booting at least. Am I correct?
Please be more specific and I can try to help you.
Thanks,
David
Hi everyone:
My TC1000 is dead. I couldn't restore it by any means, and I tried everything. I couldn't make it work. I took it to 2 diferent computer technician and couldn't make it work. I even have a Philips extended warranty and the say it's a software problem and they ain't going to fix it. I'm soo sad, because I loved my TC1000 very much. I'm not going to get a TC1100 to replace it because HP/Compaq services to me were the worst I haved received.
So, what Tablet could be a good replacement for me. I plan to use it for heavy web browsing mainly and some Word work. I want it to be as mobile as possible so that means that as lightand small as I can get. The price is a important factor too.
Here are the 4 that I have found that are a light replacement for my TC1000:
- Fujitsu LifeBook P1500( Tablet PC version available in October)
- Motion LS800(I don't need a keyboard)
- OQO 1+(maybe too small for the price)
- Vaio U750P(I think a replacement will be available soon)
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Diego
PS. If someone can help me fix my TC1000 I will be happier.

Hi David:
Windows is not booting up at all. That's the problem. The technician told that to Philips because he can't make the Restore CD's to work without the docking station.
It's the same problem posted so many times, HP didn't included the drivers for a external CD drive. On monday my wife is going to place a complaint with the government agency that deals with this kind of problems.
I haved tried everything to fix it. I tried to restore it using a crossover cable from two different PC. I tried to create a bootable cd with the correct drivers. I tried to create a bootable cd without the original restore cd's. I haved read this forum up and down many times looking for a way to fix it.
I know it can be fix but I think it's just way beyond my expertise. I just need a good technician.
Thanks for your help.
Diego
If your sure your ready I would personally reccomend the Motion out of the ones you listed, actually probably out of any.
