All of the synchronization software that runs under Windows works on a tablet as well. I don't know fo any specially for the tablet software for synchronization.
I am currently considering buying a tablet and I was wondering if there is any software or peripheral hardware connection devices that allow transfer/integration of document information, as well as data entry programs between a tablet pc and a desktop/laptop. I am sure that from what I have read here that I will eventually get away from using my desktop/laptop all together, but for now I was hoping that there might be some solutions for this kind of connectivity integration. For example, integrating Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft Office documents similar to the way I currently integrate my Blackberry with Microsoft Outlook.
I am a project manager in the the construction business and I have programs such as Primavera Expedition which will integrate well with the tablet pc for certain field applications. There will also be times when I need the power, memory, and keyboard/mouse functions for data entry into certain forms within Expedition. Without going into too much detailed explanation I am looking to use the tablet for meetings-taking notes, phonelogs, and for upadating schedule programs in the field. I also believe the tablet will be great for reviewing (making redlines on arch. contract documents), and for estimating using digitized based programs for doing take-offs. The problem is I don't know how interactive the software that I use would be with a tablet and whether it would even work, and I feel that I would still need a laptop for doing most of the operations within the software. Ultimately though I guess that my tablet could be morphed (with peripherals such as: a keyboard and docking station) into a desktop/laptop when I need such a thing...any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
