I've only encountered two problems on my X41T.

(1) I can't make any Recovery CDs on my X41 Tablet for some reason. I get this error:

The system cannot find the file specified

I have my X41T connected to the X4 Dock, with the MultiBurner Plus inserted.

(2) Also, when I press "Access IBM" during the tablet's bootup ... it displays "Missing Operating System".

There's something seriously wrong with my tablet, isn't there?
Where's the pre-loaded content etc? Can't I restore to factory settings?

Your hidden partition has been hosed somehow. If you did not erase it, then perhaps your drive has an issue and you should ask Lenovo for a replacment. Well at any rate, you can call Lenovo, and for a small shipping fee they will send you the recovery disks, which will bring your system back to a factory fresh state, including the hidden partition.

Holy crap, I just called Lenovo Australia ... and they said sending Recovery Discs will cost AUD82.50, and they can only accept credit cards.

I don't have a credit card T_T

Just a thought, but the recovery discs that Lenovo's sending out to me ... they're specifically for the X41 Tablet right? Is there a way I can check (ie will it be labelled "For X41T Only"?)

I don't want to stuff up my tablet lol xD

Just wonder, are the Lenovo/IBM recovery discs only image based?

I mean, can you choose to install Windows and other software as needed yourself? Or you must format the whole HDD/partition for recovery?

BTW, IIRC, they don't include the discs in retail boxes, instead they store the recovery data on a hidden partition, and you've to ask them in order to get one, right?

And you can create recovery disc yourself, but are they the same the ones being sent by IBM?

Two additional questions to throw in the fire:

(1) In another thread, someone said that the R&R file was 225 MB. I just downloaded the current file from the IBM website and it is 462 Mb for the v 3.0 file - "setup_tvtrnr3_1027c.exe" - apparently a combined R&R & CSS. Is this the correct file?

(2) One warning note says that you must uninstall "Rapid Restore Ultra" if you have it installed. The actual title of the currently installed program is "IBM Rescue and Recovery - Rapid Restore". The "Rapid Restore" in the title bothers me. Do we need to uninstall the current version (2.0 something)? Or, am i making too much about the title.

In my 'Access IBM' I only have an icon for 'Install CSS'. I believe that the CSS has to be installed after you receive the tablet - am I reading this right? [?]

So I should be able to just install the new 462 Mb file over the older programs? Right? [?]

I realize that this might sound like infantile questioning; however, I would prefer to not make a monumental mistake and have to start over completely. I have the entire MS Office Pro 2003, plus several other major programs installed and customized. A 'Recovery' now would really be an effort. [cry]

Has anyone received/bought recovery discs from Lenovo for their tablet? I'd like to see what the label looks like =D
