Sorry but There is not much you can upgrade, execpt ram. Good luck in Iraq and thanks for keeping us safe..
I love my tablet for 99% of what I want to do, but now that I have a media center, and I'm going to Iraq, I realize it's just not there for video playbacks (in particular -- also many games don't work with it).
Does anyone know if it's possible to "upgrade" (through parts) a 3505 to a more modern model (an M200?). I'm hoping it's just a matter of changing a motherboard processor and maybe memory. Anybody actually done this though?
Thanks in advance for any responses...

I had my 3505 in Iraq - it was great EXCEPT for DVDs. I ended up buying a little DVD player (funnily enough, it's a Toshiba) and it was perfect - so that was the end of that problem. I was at Al Asad, however - so it was easy for me to actually have stuff. :-)
Since then, I've upgraded to a Tecra M4 - and I think it's going to be perfect for when I go back (January . . .) - good for 3D games, DVD as well as work . . .
So who do you work for?
Thanks for the replies already. I work for the Army, and it's my first time out there, so I basically know nothing :) What I tried doing was playing back some videos recorded from my media center, and it was just painful (unless I make the process priority "high" and then the rest of the system in unresponsive). I've upgraded the RAM to 1GB, I think that's the max.
I know some things about the M200 appear to work just fine on the 3505 (e.g. I installed the bluetooth driver). I know it's not supported, but I was just wondering if anyone tried sticking in the M200 motherboard into the 3505 case to see if it works. Upgrades like that I could probably get away with, anything more expensive goes through the "why do we need to buy a computer every couple years?" factor :)
Anyway, if anyone has done it, please let me know, otherwise I'll just assume I'm out of luck.
