Default Look at this screen shot, I'm downloading these

Look at this screen shot, I'm downloading these files now, but one of them is 235 megs! anyone else installed these?

arethey Self installing or must I run each one seperately? Any risk updating Bios when I use power on passwords?

Common now people, Race is looking for a few good men and women to test run the files for him. Any Volunteer out there who wants to step forward so he will know if he should install the files on his tablet or not? He doesn't want to ruin his tablet so if you guys can be so kind and be his guinea pig :D

counterpart: you're an idiot... grow up, this is a DISCUSSION forum. i have already installed the files and my screen shot clearly showed i began that process. i didn't ask anyone to 'test' anything for me... just asked of any known risks or methods utlized. clearly you have issues if all you can do is post attacks on very normal questions that many others likely share. if you don't want to DISCUSS anything, then leave us alone.

ok, here's my experience... everything installed properly except:

    1) the fingerprint 'update' is an older version than what is already installed, it recognized this during installation (but not download), so it didn't install it.

    2) new 'rescue & recovery' installation requires UNINSTALLING 'client security software'... because it is bundled with new program now with new features. i hit 'cancel' to tell hit to 'uninstall' css... but i think i have to uninstall that manually. but now, the R&R installation program doesn't appear anymore during reboot. any idea how to launch it? i don't know file name or location.

has anyone done this? is new version worth all this trouble of uninstalling CSS and losing all the settings?

Really, talking about idiot. You are the one who will ask every single question before you even attempt to install or modify your tablet. Give me a break. You are still probably livve at home with mommy because you are too afraid to try everything on your own. Grow up, and be a man for a chance. If you are too afraid to make your own decision to run a tablet, I wonder what kind of existing life you can make on your own.

BTW, you are not DISSCUSSING anything. You are only asking for help because momma probably doesn't know much about computer stuffs otherwise, you would get help from mommy instead making a fool of yourself here.

you are way out of line and highly off base. my posts speak for itself. if you have nothing better to do than attack other people who never confronted you... then i suggest you try yoga or meditation.

i'm done responding to this nonsense and won't be replying to you any further.

Race, I have done some testing with the new version and here are my observations:

    1) It does in fact require you to manually uninstall CSS
    2) It does add some new features
    3) It breaks the ability you had in CSS to use your fingerprint to pull up the password store. This version just reports that you have no fingerprint reader.

IMHO, I would skip this part of that download. You can still install just the rescue and recovery stuff. IBM/Lenovo will need to fix this as it is a bug. I am talking to them about that today who knows if I will get anywhere.

OK, NOW I am confused about this CSS deal!!
If I am doing a "clean install" and I have just XP Tablet and the IBM Software installer loaded, what do I install next? If I then install CSS, is the fingerprint stuff messed up?

If you install CSS from the link in the start menu, everything works great, its when you install the updated CSS from Rescue and REcovery download that you will have a problem with the fingerprint reader.

Funny... I hit the fringerprint read issue. I made to many changes that I did not connect it to this update (also I had yet to use the finerprint reader). IBM support never figured it out and said it was a hardware issue.

I feel better now that I have Norton GoBack installed. You never sweat a software install. It's saved my butt numerous times.

There is no bug. You need to download the FPR software version 4.6 manually from Lenovo website. Software installer will only update to version 4.5.3.

You should not install the client security 6.0, because this is a dumb down version which does not allow you to setup up "multi-factor authentication and/or custom password complexity and expiration rules." This version is too slow to load also compare to 5.4.

FWIW, I hope mama boy won't use this tip :D
