Anybody else get a sporratic slow reboot on their tc4200? Sometimes it takes several minuites for windows to fully load< other times just a few seconds?

Is this while on battery?

If you boot turn the machine on and it's not plugged in then the CPU defaults to 800MHz until windows takes over and can dynamically switch the cpu speed (all the way up to full speed if necessary)... I haven't been able to pinpoint when this actually happens in the boot process but it seems to me that my boots are considerably slower on battery power.

Note that if you have it plugged in when you turn it on... it will default to the processors max speed... try loading an OS without speedstep support to see these things in action ;)

I don't think it's a battery issue. Even an 800mhz machine would boot faster than this.

It happens 1/3 of the time.

The other 2/3's it boots up swiftly.

could it be looking for a network signal which is not present... it seems I had a slow booting system at one point and it turned out to be that...can't quite remember what the deal was now... but it seems like it was waiting looking for a wifi or network signal and would eventually just boot without it. but it would be very slow waiting for the time out if the thing it was looking for was not to be found.
