I use hibernation all-the time, no issues . .
I tried to search but didnt find anyone with a problem like mine. When I have my computer go into hibernate it goes to the hibernating screen, and then the monitor shuts down. The rest of the computer for some reason is still running and wont shut down unless i hold the power switch. I can tell because all the normal running lights are on and the fan is running as well. Does anyone have any ideas?

Do a ~search here on hibernation and you'll see a number of threads that deal with hibernation issues. Are you running 1.5 gigs of memory? There is a bug that affects hibernation if you are running 1.5 gigs of memory, although I don't know if that fits your exact siutation.
if it is not an issue of having 1.5 Gb Plus of memory, it could be an issue with a plug and pray device. I see the same behaviour when I eject my soundblaster Audigy 2 PCMCIA card. The machine refuses to hibernate. What you can do is the following:
Configure the machine to hibernate on closing the screen and go asleep when hitting the on/off switch. When it refuses to hibernate, hit the on/off switch and the machine will propably go to sleep mode. Then, hit it again to get awake. At that point, the hibernation process will proceed.
A bit awkward, but this works for me.
Six,
I have a similar issue -- my M200 will not fully hibernate when in tablet mode, but it works flawlessly in notebook mode or when I close the lid. I've spent hours working with it, but when I think I have it fixed, the problem recurs. The only time it works 100% is when I have a fresh, unpatched image. It stops working after I install the Toshiba and Windows updates.
My screen goes blank, it saves to disk, but the power never turns off. If I look VERY closely at the screen, I can see dark and light streaks. I have no idea why it doesn't work in tablet mode. I can have the normal landscape orientation as a tablet, and it doesn't work, and in portrait orientation as a notebook, and it does. Very odd.
Thanks alot for you help guys. I only have 1 gig of memory so I doubt that is the problem. I currently have no plug an play devices connected. It does this no matter what screen orientation. Changing the button function doesnt seem to help. Would any video card drivers that would have effected this? Any more help would be appreciated.
