Hello, everyone! My first time visiting and posting here. I've got a Compaq tc1100 that is my entire office - phone, fax, workstation, etc. The only wire I still use is the power wire when I dock. I even connect to the training projector sans wires. (Completely paperless, too, but that's another story).

Anyway, the HP Bluetooth drivers that come stock with this unit are great! Much more flexible and, in my opinion, user friendly. When I work from home and I want to transfer files from my tablet to my desktop, I use a USB drive or the SD card. I'd like to use the Bluetooth file transfer, but I'm not sure how to do this. I have a USB Bluetooth dongle in the desktop, and they are connected as a PAN. File transfers fail, stating that the "OBEX service on the [desktop] failed to start". Are the drivers incompatible? They connect, but that's about the extent of it. No network throughput, file transfer, etc. Thanks in advance for any help!

Can't help with this specifically as I use 802.11 wireless for all my networking / printing. Just wanted to congratulate you on how well you've got that Tablet PC integrated with the way you work.

You might catch more responses if you change your subject line in your lead post to something like

"Bluetooth OBEX service fails to start"

Good advice, thanks. This is a more esoteric thing that I'd like to be able to do (basically transfer files without using the USB drive at home).

Woah! As I write this, my UPS just intercepted its first power failure! I'm on my desktop at home now. 'bout time - I was beginning to wonder if it was worth the money.
