    Hey folks,

Recently sold two M1400s here, thought I was done with tablets for a while but a few days ago saw the 1600 on Motion's website and my new tablet will be here tomorrow (actually later today).

Bought it from Xremenotebooks, very nice guys there, Steven, Greg and others. It was a little cheaper than Motion but to be honest that wasn't the issue - Xtreme had my tablet IN STOCK as I configured it, so I placed the order.

Ordered it with VA, Centrino 1.5, 60G HD, 1G RAM, extended battery, Flex Dock, Office Pack software, USB DVD/CD-RW Drive, USB Keyboard with Touch Pad. The flex dock and extended battery will be here next week.

    Let's see what happens...

Any hot tips for getting it set up from day one? I intend to load Norton Systemworks as soon as I get it, and get it set up for network printing. Side note: with the M1400s I used to have, I also had the wireless keyboards but they just would NOT work right. Motion was very good about troubleshooting but they couldn't get the wireless keyboards to work right either so they sent me the USB keyboard w/touchpad and voila no more problems. I understand that this was likely due to some bluetooth issues, which have been remedied in the 1600.

Have to say that I enjoy the obsessive-compulsiveness of many here, makes me laugh because it reminds me of...well, me!

Congrats on getting the LE 1600. I've had mine for about a month and love it. I moved up from an M1300so it's a great improvement. you'll love it I'm sure.

    Congratulations on your LE1600.
It is interesting to see the evolution of Motion tablets from the M1200 to the LE1600 and 800 series.
Just received my LE1600 the other day. So elegant compared to the M1300 and M1400.

Post your impressions as you start using your LE1600.

Congrats on your new 1600! I just got mine earlier this week, though I haven't had much time to play with it:(

We actually got identical ones (!).

JCP777, Is there anything in particular that makes you say "elegant" as you compare your M1400 to LE1600?

Doc Greg, you can break out all your old Bluetooth devices again. The Toshiba BT Stack in the LE1600 allows everything to work smoothly.

    JCALDWELL,
    1. The 1600's case is steel grey color (which I like) as compared to the m1400's silver color.
    2. The m1400's connectors( modem, ethernet, vga, firewire, and usb are at the bottom or top in landscape mode. Either way is a little awkward. The 1600's are on the side which is more convenient for me. Landscape is used 75% of the time.
    3. The speakers (if we can call them that) are at the bottom (in landscape mode) providing even sound distribution.
(I use a Bose headset if I'm listening to anything.)
    4. The overall appearance of the 1600 is better than the 1300 or 1400.

I like (have gotten used to) the 1400's fingerprint reader location, but I can adapt for the 1600.

    5. I have not received the extended battery yet, but the fit of the battery and tablet appears to be top notch and flush with the thicker part of the tablet.

These are my initial impressions of the 1600.
    Hope this helps.

Spent much of the day with MS updates, setting up NSW 2005, Outlook Express, etc.

Only trouble I've had (and continue to have) is wireless connectivity. After troubleshooting for hours with my IT guy it still disconnects for a few minutes then re-establishes the connection.

    Ideas?

Other than that, VERY happy with the improvements, flexdock, etc. A very nice change is that the 1600VA display doesn't have the rubberish bezel around it like my 1400s did. Nice touch.

Input would be great from all of you tablet gurus. This is a FANTASTIC site.
