hello there i have a question about how to buy an english x41 tablet despite i am living in japan and not in the uk or the us.

i contacted ibm/lenovo japan and they told me they only sell the japanese version and i should contact lenovo/ibm usa. ok so i called ibm/lenovo usa and uk as well as several dealers in the us/uk and they told me they are not allowed to sell the X41 to non-us based, non-uk based customers. ahhh how great is that...[xx(]

of course i can buy the japanese x41 here in japan but i am a non-native speaker and dont want to hassle around with a japanese os and japanese tablet apps.

does anybody have an idea? i cannot afford to fly to the us or the uk just to get that awesome tablet.

You could probably get one shipped internationally from one of the resellers.

i contacted 4 resellers so far and all of offer international shipping except for the X41 tablet!!! looks like there is an export ban on that machine... or general IBM thinkpads...if you know ANY reseller who ships the X41 Tablet outside of the us please tell me....

How do you like Japan? I am moving to Tokyo in September. I am an endodontist (root canal spe******t) who just finished residency and I have a three year committment with the Air Force. I got my orders recently to Yokota! Bonzai!!!!

I hope you are able to get the tablet - it looks awsome... Oh wait, I hope I am able to get the tablet - I ordered one on June 7th and I am still waiting.

You may be able to order an English recovery CD and keyboard, though it is probably cheaper to import a US tablet.

Part numbers: US keyboard is 91P8319, CD is 39K8951. You can order the keyboard from http://www-306.ibm.com/pc/support/si...&sitestyle=ibm, but the CD doesn't add correctly, you'd probably have to do that over phone.
