I'm not sure about how ideal this is, but probably something like this. ...maybe?

Does something like that even exist? Also what would be another more conventional mic that would be ideal for use with X41T to record lectures in conjunction with One Note?

Some reviewers on newegg said you needed to be as close as a foot for the above mentioned mic to work.
I too would be interested in a good mic for lectures (I am assuming the built-in one will not be good enough for law school lectures).
Any other ideas?

Law School lectures is what I'll be using for as well. I have spent the better half of the last hour searching for one. It would seem to me that it would be a product worth making by one of these big bluetooth outfits like Jabra.
One reviewer said "i can hear what song is playing through my friends headphones 10 feet away."
I found this:

I haven't used it, but it looks promising. There's a TON of other mics on that site to checkout. I picked this one to show because it's tiny and says it's good for lectures. The only thing I was thinking is that when in tablet mode, which side is the mic jack on? It's omni-directional, so it shouldn't be an issue, but I thought I'd mention it none the less.
edit:
Actually, this one looks better - it's straight, rather than a 90deg angle, and it's cheaper. :) Make sure to get the one for computers, and I would think you want the high-sensitivity option, but I'd email them and tell 'em how you want to use it to be sure.

Has anyone tried this before? Seems good. I want to buy one if it works well.quote:Originally posted by Crashless

Thanks a lot.
One issue I've noticed now that I have the tablet, is that the mic input is on the bottom when the device is in tablet mode. This makes things a little more difficult that I was hoping.
The best bet for the x41 might be a usb mic that you would put in the top usb port.
Found one reccommended by Eric Rice:

I don't know if it'll be good for lectures though.
Edit: You could of course get an iMic adaptor and use one of those mics I mentioned above though. That's another option. Please post how that works out.
I was looking around for a microphone that synced via bluetooth with the laptop also, but I had no luck finding one even after an hour of searching. You would think that such a product existed.
For bluetooth mics most people use normal BT headsets for cellphones. You Might try a BT speakerphone...I've never tried it, but it _might_ work.
