Default I'm adding 1G of Motion RAM to my LE1600--or try

I'm adding 1G of Motion RAM to my LE1600--or trying to. I'm having a heck of a time getting the little screws out so I can open the panel. If the battery is away from me so all the writing on the tablet back is rightside up, which way should I be trying to turn the screws? I've tried it both ways and can't get the little buggers to budge! (Plus I might be just a little excited since I just got my tablet about 4 hours ago....:D)

I am in the same situation I just picked up my LE I600 and as soon as ups gets here I will have my new 1Â*GB stick of ram.

    This thing freaking rocks!

The RAM is located underneath the center most access panel. The screws are standard thread so turn them counter-clockwise to loosen. Remember this little saying for future reference. "Righty tighty lefty loosey"

They put Loc-tite on the screws so they don't come loose with vibration. they should come out with fairly minimal effort.

Another trick to remember is that you have to push the SODIMM chip in at a slight angle. Also you have to push fairly hard (until you hear it "crunch" and feel it snap into place). Another way to tell if it's in all of the way is the two metal "wings" on the sides of the chip holder are supposed to fit into the notches of the SODIMM chip. If the chip is not fully seated, the "wings" will be sticking out at a slight angle (rather than parallel to the sides of the chip).

Careful. Never push hard against the motherboard when inserting ram, even if it isn't making full contact. Press firmly using two hands, and nudge it side to side a bit to get it to snap into place if needed. Do make sure it is fully seated though and all the pins make full contact (common source of ram errors).

Thanks for all the tips! They made installation quite easy once I got the right size screwdriver (embarrassing). Now I have an LE1600VA with 1.5G RAM, the Flexdock, and the new bump case--which is quite improved, by the way. Love the new pen, and the placement of the ports--much better. Now to wait for the convertible keyboard....What a FANTASTIC machine!
