I am looking a deploying some sort of ink-enabled application for field workers (forms, notes etc.). But these forms/notes need to be stored centrally in an enterprise database (likely to be Oracle) as part of a customer record.

The goal is to be able to look up the client records and see the notees (assumed to still be in ink form) but also be able to search the notes.

Can this be done? My impression was that all the inking capability (including searching) was part of XP Tablet Editin but the servers are likely to be running Windows Server 2003 and I can't imagine how we would want the searching to be performed locally (on what could be a very large enterprise database).

Any pointers?

Saving and Reading ink in a database is one a common tasks for TabletPC. Hello InkWorld is a complete sample that includes a Step-by-Step Tutorial on how to setup an Access Database, create a Form to capture Name, Age, and Signature and read and write text and ink to a database. The source code can easily be changed to support other databases, e.g. SQL Server and Oracle. You can download HelloInkWorld from the website in my sig, or it still may be in the software library here at TabletPCBuzz.

The databinding features of the Agilix Infinote controls also might meet your needs. It all depends on where you are in your project.
